Arabic Language Program (Saturday School)

The Arabic language learning program was founded in 1976 by the Tripoli and Mena Association as a means to provide children in the community with an opportunity to learn the Arabic language.
The service is located at Wiley Park Girls High School and involves approximately eight classes that range with students of different ages. Classes are held on Saturday mornings at 9:30am and finish in the afternoon at 1:30pm. Our program offers quality teaching of the Arabic language and contributes to the essential education of children.
Our service involves teaching Arabic literacy skills such as how to read and write and increasing the fluency of speaking the language. We assist students with a smooth transition from one learning environment to another through effective developmental work. We achieve this by ensuring the improvement of our teaching curriculum each year which creates new and enhanced pathways for our students.
All classes are provided with a fee.
To enrol, please contact the Social Welfare Centre during business hours on (02) 9758 1366.

What
We are very happy with the service, the staff are very helpful, we get whatever we need. They check on my mum regularly and organise and supply what we need, my mum has been with them for a while and she has moved from a level two to a level four as her needs increased
“mum lives longer because of them, mum has dementia, and the service has done so much to help her and me over the years, they never stop, I am so grateful”.
“TMA accommodates my needs; they tell me all the care I can get, and I just pick what I want”.
